At the leading edge of new fiber construction concentrated on enabling high-capacity connectivity across the regions we serve, IIG focuses sales and business development efforts on wavelength and regional dark fiber sales between major data hubs and points-of-presence.

Having just completed Phase One of our California network, and in consideration of future phases currently under construction, we are looking to augment our team with a Business Development Manager located in the Bay Area.  Reporting to the EVP of Sales and Marketing, the successful candidate will play a key role in prospecting new business relationships, advising clients and negotiating contract terms to successful completion.

This is a great opportunity for a seasoned sales professional to join our team near the ground floor.  We are seeking a strong sales hunter with a track record of success on large, complex opportunities involving ultra-high network capacity, dark fiber, conduit and fiber construction sales.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the growth and acquisition of fiber-based services in a designated territory
  • Develop and execute detailed business plans designed to attain revenue targets and goals
  • Unearth new sales opportunities through networking and other practices
  • Operate as the single point of contact and advocate for customers and is responsible for managing the entire sales cycle
  • Works collaboratively with all other IIG resources as required to achieve sales goals
  • Responsible for accurate forecasting and proper sales administration functions, including up-to-date CRM records

Critical Qualifications

  • Demonstrated 3+ years experience in B2B acquisition sales role, preferably in telecom services
  • Instinctively comfortable with prospecting new business through research and networking
  • Possess an insatiable desire to sell to the client based on overall value
  • Highly customer focused
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Skilled in solution based or consultative based selling techniques and solution oriented sales

Additional Qualifications for Consideration

  • Knowledge of Salesforce
  • Effective network of relationships with Bay Area datacenter and technology companies
  • Experience with Microsoft suite of applications
